Zaat (ज़ात)

Origin: Arabic

Zaat is an Urdu word, it means “being endowed with, soul, self, caste, race” in English, while in Hindi it’s called as “saath/साथ, svyan/स्वयं, jaati/जाती, daud/दौड़.”

For eg:Meri rooh bhi tu, meri zaat bhi tu” which means, “you’re my soul, you’re my caste, too.”
