Khat (ख़त)

Origin: Arabic

Khatt is an Urdu word, it means “letter/note/mark” in English, while in Hindi it’s called as “patra/पत्र, patri/पत्री, nishaan/निशान.”

For eg:Khamoshi ke khat woh mere naam kar gaya” which means, “she bestowed upon me the letters full of silence.”
