Huzoor or Huzur (हुज़ूर)

Origin: Arabic

Huzoor is an Urdu word, it means “presence of superior authority” in English, while in Hindi it’s called as “ucch adhikari ki upastithi/उच्च अधिकारी की उपस्तिथि.

Huzoor also means “Your Highness (a title given to a person of royal rank, or used in addressing them, sir)” in English, while in Hindi it’s called as “ucchta/उच्चता, shreeman/श्रीमान, maharaaj/महाराज, maharaani/महारानी.”

For eg: “Abhi kahaan pee hai, abhi toh peeyunga main huzoor” which means, “I’ve not really drunk now, I am yet to start drinking sir.”
