Hijab/Hijaab (हिजाब)

Origin: Arabic

Hijab is an Urdu word, it means “veil/modesty/bashfulness/night” in English, while in Hindi it’s called as “parda/परदा, sheel/शील, shaaleenta/शालीनता.”

For eg: “Sharartein kare jo aise, bhool ke hijaab,” which means, “the one, who makes mischief, forgetting the veils.”
