Ghalib/Galib (ग़ालिब)

Origin: Urdu

Ghalib is an Urdu word, that means “Dominant” in English, while in Hindi it is called as “Pramukh/प्रमुख.”

For eg. “Ghalib ke sheron ko chori karke ban gaya shayar,” that means “Became the poet by stealing Ghalib’s poetry.” Here Ghalib is referred as “Mirza Ghalib” a classical Urdu and Persian poet of Mughal emperor.
