Origin: Arabic

Gair is an Urdu word, it means “strange, foreigner, besides, other, different, alien, bad, without, except, but, save” in English, while in Hindi it’s called as “ajeeb, videshi, ke atirikt/के अतिरिक्त, anya/अन्य, alag/अलग़, ajnabi/अजनबी, kharab/ख़राब, ke bina/के बिना, ke sivay/के सिवाय, parantu/परन्तु, bachana/बचाना”
