Armaan/Arman
Origin: Persian
Armaan is an Urdu word, it means “desire/yearning/wish” in English, while in Hindi it’s called as “Ikchha/tadap/abhilasha.”
For eg: “Chaddar khaddar ki, armaan hai resham ke” which means, “the bed-sheet is made of cotton, and the desires are made of silk.”
