The Local Train Band

Artist Biography

Formed in Chandigarh back in 2008, The Local Train, an Indian rock band, has been making waves in the music scene. After shifting their base to New Delhi in 2015, the band has solidified its presence. Lead guitarist Paras Thakur, bassist Ramit Mehra, and drummer/percussionist Sahil Sarin currently make up the band’s lineup. However, in April 2022, the band made headlines when vocalist/frontman Raman Negi departed.

The band’s journey began with a series of singles, paving the way for their debut album “Aalas Ka Pedh” in 2015, followed by their second album “Vaaqif” in 2018. Notably, both albums soared to the top 5 most-streamed rock music albums on Apple Music India. What sets them apart is their poignant Hindi and Urdu lyrics, often delving into themes of communalism and faith, resonating strongly with the youth across India.

The Local Train is a regular fixture at live events and music festivals nationwide, gracing stages at Bacardi NH7 Weekender, SULAFEST, One Plus Music Fest, Red Bull Tour Bus,

Grub Fest, and Sympulse Fest. Their music even found its way into Pan Nalin’s 2015 film “Angry Indian Goddesses,” premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival.
