Artist Biography
Shuja Haider or Shuja Hyder is a Pakistani singer, songwriter, composer, music director and record producer.
Haider is known for his collaboration with Shoaib Mansoor in his films Khuda Kay Liye and Bol, where he recorded solo and duets with Ahmed Jahanzeb. Describing his work experience Haider said, “Right now people in the film industry aren’t making music properly. The music for Bol and Khuda Kay Liye, on the other hand, was very conceptual. The brilliant thing about Shoaib sahab is that you know exactly what he wants from you,” he further said, “sound without vision is nothing. It’s like hammering a nail. It’s not music.
In 2013, Shuja debut in television industry and worked exclusively with Hum TV composing, recording and producing music for its drama serials including Tum Mere Hi Rehna, Muqaddas, Sehra Main Safar and Mann Mayal. He also recorded music videos and singles including “Tera Woh Pyar”, “Baanware” and “Nawazishein”.
In 2016, he marked his Coke Studio debut in series season 9, where he served as one of six music producers on the show, producing and recording songs with assigned artist. His team includes Meesha Shafi, Naeem Abbas Rufi, Momina Mustehsan, Umair Jaswal and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Currently haider is producing music for three projects of Hum Films, Haider said, “I can’t disclose the names right now but I can tell you that they are being produced under the banner of Hum Films.” Shuja Haider is also working on this passion project soundscape in which he aim is to revive concerts and live performance in Pakistan.
Haider is best known as a playback singer in films Khuda Kay Liye and Bol. He wrote and performed a song in an Indian film Ru Ba Ru and served as music director for Lux Style Awards for two years.
Haider marked his debut in television as a composer and vocalist for the drama serials Tum Mere Hi Rehna , Muqaddas, Sehra Main Safar and Mann Mayal. He also released three singles “Tera Woh Pyar”, “Baanware” and “Nawazishein”. In 2016, he made his Coke Studio debut as a music director.
