Artist Biography
Shaarib Hashmi is an Indian Bollywood actor and writer, who is mainly known for his outstanding work in the Bollywood film industry and has marked his identity in the cinematic world. The most-talented star has managed to steal the hearts of many with his amazing performances during his career life. He was born on 25th January 1976, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India where he grew up along with siblings and parents. He belongs to a middle-class family and born to a renowned film journalist, Z. A Johar. He studied from St.John’s Model English High School and later, did graduation from Bhavans College, Mumbai, India.
The Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire , the National Award-winning movie Filmistaan and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. He made his film debut with the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire and acted in a more in-depth role in 2012 with the drama film Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Recently he did work on Amazon Prime show The Family Man and Voot Select’s hit show Asur.
Career:
Sharib Hashmi started his career with the movie “Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain” in which he worked as an assistant director. The film was released in the year 1999. While the film features Govinda, Urmila Matondkar, Dimple Kapadia, and others played pivotal roles.
Later, he started working in movies as an actor and has given stellar performances in the roles he played. In 2008, he made his debut film and worked in “Slumdog Millionaire” which became the Oscar-winning movie and he received much acclaim from film critics, fans, and viewers.
In 2012, he gave back-to-back hit movies, such as; “Filmistaan”, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”. In the former, film features Inaamulhaq, Kumud Mishra, and others. While the film was directed by Nitin Kakkar. In the latter, the film features, Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and others.
Later, he worked in several movies and made his special appearance in the Bollywood film industry. His some of the movies including “Badmashiyaan” (2015),” Phullu Phullu” (2017), “Vodka Diaries” (2018), “Batti GUI Meter Chalu” (2018), “Nakkash” (2019), “Ujda Chaman” (2019), and “Darbaaan” (2020)
Recently, he worked on Amazon Prime Show “The Family Man” (Indian Television Series) and Voot Select blockbuster “Asur” which became the super hit show.
Alongside this, he has appeared in other television series including “A Viral Wedding” which was aired in the year 2020. Moreover, he has worked in several commercials, television web series, and films as well.

Among various notable achievements, he earned a few nominations including “Stardust Award for Best Actor, Guild Award for Best Male Debut, and others are worth sharing.
