Artist Biography

Rupinder Handa is an Indian Punjabi playback singer. She has released three albums, including Loving Waves in 2012.

Rupinder Handa is not an overnight triumph. This assiduous adherent of Guru Bakshi Ram has a ground her spiritual voice through precision of practice, and the correct strike into a thoroughly methodical musical training and grooming. She obtained her master’s degree in music from Chandigarh and an MPhil from Patiala.

Rupinder made her foray into singing while she was in 3rd standard. She performed in front of a live audience. Since she was clear that she want to pursue a career in music, she with sheer perseverance worked day in and day out on her strengths rather than going innovative. She finally began her professional career in music in 2006, after she not just took Punjab but the whole of India by storm after winning the coveted title of ‘Awaaz Punjab Di’, on the famous MH1 channel.

T-Series contracted her and released her first album titled Mere Haiyan in 2006. Three years later her next album titled Fulkariyan was released and she became one of the most sought after Punjabi singer after her successful albums. Two more albums of Rupinder Handa were released later. She has performed live at a concert where chief guest was none other than our former president APJ Abdul Kalam. She is arguably one of the most priced possesion of Punjab and her achievements too are no less. Rupinder in the course of her musical journey has been honored with various awards right from her school to University to national level competitions. She has received regional awards from the hands of big guns of Punjab politics named Bibi Parneet Kaur and Sukhbir Singh Badal.
