Artist Biography

Ashim Kemson Born 1990 Is an Indian musician, singer and lyricist. Most known for his Sufi, folk and Hindi rock songs.

He was born CMC Staff Colony, Ludhiana, Punjab, India to Kashmir Masih and Josphine Masih. He speaks Punjabi, Hindi and English. He first attended Wylie Memorial High School, Ludhiana and completed his high school from it. He developed an interest in music while he was 7 years old. He sang prayer in his school. He learned drums in the local church. He played Christian Conventions in various churches. He got a chance to play in City Revival Church. Then in very short time Ashim started playing bass in various churches and then developed an interest in acoustic guitar and mouth organ. With his success in instruments he then started singing prayers. After his high school he decided to pursue his career in music and left his home to Batala in search for a career in music.

In Batala, he joined AVM College, where later he started teaching music and earned his living. He completed his education from IGNOU and then joined DAV School as a music teacher, where he decided to learn more about music and left for Delhi, where he joined institute and learned sound engineering. After which he became an intern in T-Series, where he assisted Pt. Jwala Prasad and later joined Oskus Entertainment Company as a bassist with the band Afreen. Later he became the vocalist as well as the bassist in the band and performed live shows in various cities in India. With his success he decided to move to Mumbai and struggle to be a playback singer. On February 14, 2012 with his arrival in Mumbai he joined Life OK Channel as an recordist. Where he worked for a week and came in contact with lyrics writer Rakesh Kumaar. He then decided join Kumaar Ji as an assistant. He assisted him for a year in various films and then he got his break in the movie Rangeelay as a playback singer with music director Jaidev Kumar.
