The story follows a recent divorcee who spends her daily commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes daily, but something shocking happens there one day.
The Girl on the Train is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language mystery thriller film directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced under the banner of Reliance Entertainment. The film is based on British author Paula Hawkins’ 2015 novel of the same name and stars Parineeti Chopra as an alcoholic widow who gets embroiled in a murder investigation. It co-stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari and introduces British actor Sammy Jonas Heaney.
Principal photography began on 4 August 2019. The film release has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film will release on 26 February 2021 on Netflix.
